Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Today, the III Winter Youth Olympic Games will start in Lausanne (Switzerland). Athletes from 70 countries take part in these prestigious competitions. Valeriya Kovaleva will represent Uzbekistan in Alpine skiing.

Before the grand opening of the Youth Olympic Games, the delegation of Uzbekistan met with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, as part of an event dedicated to greeting participants in the Olympic Village.

During the meeting, Bach greeted the representatives of our country and wished them good luck in the upcoming competitions, and also emphasized that the Olympic movement is developing in Uzbekistan. At the end of the event, the delegation of Uzbekistan received symbolic gifts.
