A delegation of Uzbekistan learns experience of digitalization of public services in the UK

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan visited a number of UK specialized agencies to study best practices in the digitization of public services.

During the trip, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Integrated Integrator for the Creation and Support of State Systems “UZINFOCOM” and the SUE “Center for Project Management of E-Government and Digital Economy under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan” familiarized themselves with the work of the Government Digitalization Service of the United Kingdom GDS. By the way, the delegation’s trip was organized within the framework of the UNDP project “Assistance in the development of effective public administration and digital transformation in Uzbekistan”.

Uzbek specialists familiarized themselves with the GDS digital transformation strategy in Britain and their experience in creating digital data. Along with this, the participants studied the experience of providing such public services as the digital ID “Gov.UK Verify”, the online information system “Gov.UK Notify” and the electronic payment system “Gov.UK Pay”.

Representatives of the delegation also met with Ben Terrett, Director of Public Digital, and Andrew Greenaway, the main cooperation partners, who expressed interest in cooperation with the relevant departments of Uzbekistan. It is worth noting that Public Digital introduced programs for online filing and voter registration.

During the meeting with representatives of the Agency "FutureGov", the parties agreed to attract Agency experts to improve the design, technology and organizational development of public services in Uzbekistan.

The CEO of PharmaTrust, Peter Branyat, and the Director of Business Development, Michael Quinn, expressed interest in assisting in the creation of an authentication system for medicines based on blockchain technologies in Uzbekistan.

During a visit to Blackinetix, Chief Financial Officer Giuseppe Calderaro suggested establishing cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Uzkimyosanoat, Uzbekneftegaz and private companies interested in integrating information technology into industry, as well as establishing safe supply chains for products and services.

Also, in the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the delegation held a meeting with our compatriots who work in financial institutions and IT companies in the UK. In particular, EBRD Senior Banker Bahrom Ibrahimov shared his experience in attracting Bank financing for the implementation of IT projects in the Bank’s partner countries.

He also expressed readiness to establish cooperation with the State Unitary Enterprise “UZINFOCOM” and implement joint investment projects in cooperation with private companies of Uzbekistan in the field of IT.
