Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Paris (France), a meeting was held between Gayane Umerova, head of the National Commission for UNESCO of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Kamol Mukhtarov, Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO, with Lazar Eloundou Assomo, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Center.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of protection, management and preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan, including World Heritage sites in Bukhara, Shakhrisabz, Khiva and Samarkand.

Particular attention was paid to the development of a master plan for Bukhara, which is being implemented by Wilmotte & Associés and Deloitte within the framework of the 1972 Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

The parties agreed to resume the work of the International Advisory Committee on the Protection of the Historical Heritage of Uzbekistan and organize an advisory mission of UNESCO experts to Uzbekistan.
