Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A charity sumalak weighing 7 tonnes is cooked in Central Park in Tashkent. The record dish will be distributed on 30 March between the houses of Mehribonlik, the Houses of Mercy, as well as the residents and guests of our capital.
About 80 cooks are preparing sumalak, using 1.25 tonnes of wheat and 4 tonnes of flour, the Tashkent city administration said.
The main goal of the charity event is to promote Uzbek national values, to demonstrate the process of cooking sumalak to tourists and to involve the residents of Tashkent in it.
The Mega Sumalak project is being implemented by the Association of Cooks of Uzbekistan, the city administration of Tashkent and the Tourism Development Department of the city of Tashkent.
