A 13-year-old girl repatriated to Uzbekistan from Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 19 November, a 13-year-old girl who had been left without care was repatriated from Russia to Uzbekistan, according to the National Social Security Agency’s press service.

The agency reported that the girl’s mother had moved to Russia with her six-year-old daughter to settle permanently but failed to secure housing or employment over the years.

During this time, the older daughter did not attend school and was often left alone. She was discovered by law enforcement during a police raid and taken to a rehabilitation center.

On November 19, with the consent of both countries and under the supervision of staff from the "Nadezhda" center, the girl was safely returned to Uzbekistan.

Upon her arrival, the National Social Security Agency ensured her safety and arranged for a temporary foster family to care for her until she could reunite with her mother.
