68 bodies recovered from plane crash site in Nepal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A total of 68 bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of a passenger plane that crashed on Sunday in Pokhara district in central Nepal. There were 72 people on board. The search for four more victims is ongoing, officials said.

"So far, we have recovered the bodies of 68 dead," Jagannath Nirula, a spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), told Xinhua.

Ajay KS, police chief of the Kaski district, where Pokhara is located, previously told Xinhua that the bodies were found at the crash site of the plane in a gorge of the Seti River more than 200 meters deep.

Many of them are mutilated beyond recognition. The fire destroyed 80 percent. aircraft, said the representative of the Nepalese army, Brigadier General Krishna Prasad Bhandari.
