Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 October, at the Astrum Academy, Beeline Uzbekistan, one of the largest foreign investors and taxpayers in the telecom industry in Uzbekistan, awarded grants in the amount of 1 billion 200 million soums for training in the course “Specialist in cybersecurity" to 50 students representing different regions of Uzbekistan: Tashkent, Tashkent, Samarkand, Jizzakh, Navoi, Andijan, Fergana, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

In total, more than 300 applications from all over the country were submitted for grants, with the average age of candidates being 23 years old. It is noteworthy that among the 50 best, who were selected by specialists from Astrum IT Academy and a team of digital operator cybersecurity experts, there are 6 girls, which indicates the growing popularity of IT professions among young Uzbek women. Grant winner from the city of Tashkent, Aisha Abatova, said: “I recently changed my field of activity: after 3 years of experience as a robotics teacher and receiving education as a philologist, I returned to programming, despite claims that this work is not for girls. I’m very glad that I didn’t listen and ended up taking the cybersecurity course!”

Training within the “Cyber Security Specialist” course at Astrum IT Academy, which is the first and only IT Academy in Central Asia and a leader in programming training, will be conducted online from 9 October to 24 November.

One of the students, Dierbek Sobirov (19 years old) from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, shared: “I have been interested in programming since the 5th grade, and now I am studying software engineering and dream of becoming a scientist in the field of computer science. I am confident that this course will help me become an expert in the field of cybersecurity and study this topic in depth.”

At the end of the program, which includes various modules: practical security, OSINT - open source intelligence, computer networks and security, PYTHON programming, and ethical hacking, a ceremony will be held to present certificates to course graduates. The 5 best students after graduation will be considered for an internship program at Beeline Uzbekistan.
