In the Asian play-off, the third-placed Group A team will host the third-placed Group B side on September 5. The return leg, hosted by the third-placed Group B team, takes place on September 9.

In the AFC/OFC play-off, the Asian team hosts New Zealand on October 10 before travelling to New Zealand for the return leg on November 14.

Four Asian teams - the top-two from the two qualifying groups - qualify automatically for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Asian qualifying campaign ends this month with the final three match days scheduled for June 6, June 10 and June 17.
