Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Between January and May 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed 10,000 Japanese citizens for tourism purposes, according to data from the National Committee on Statistics.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of Japanese tourists increased by 3,500 people, representing a growth of 53.2%.

The majority of visits — 8,950 — were for leisure travel. Additionally, 751 people arrived to visit relatives, 286 for business purposes, 36 for study, and 1 person entered for commercial activities.
