Ukrainian company inked contract on supply of equipment with Swiss Zeromax GmbH, which is general contractor of the project. The Ukrainian firm will start supply equipment in the second quarter of 2010 and assembly in the second half of 2010.
According to Gazeta.uz, construction of facility entered into active phase and it is planned to commission the object in December 2010.
In January 2009, Zeromax GmbH won the tender on supply of equipment with assembly and commissioning services for construction of facility on production of propane-butane mixture at Mubarek Gas Processing Plant.
The facility’s designed processing capacity is 12 billion cubic meters of natural gas and it will produce 258,000 tonnes of liquefied gas and 125,000 tonnes of gas condensate a year. Over 80% of products will be exported.
Total cost of the project is US$244 million. China Development Bank issued US$85 million loan to the project, while Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan allocated loan for US$55.4 million. Local commercial banks issued loans for US$50 million and Uzbekneftegaz will direct US$53.6 million.
Mubarek Gas Processing Plant us unitary subsidiary of Uzneftegazdobicha, which is part of Uzbekneftegaz. The plant was commission in 1971 and it can process 30 billion cubic meters of gas a year. The enterprise produces gas condensate, hydrocarbon liquefied gas and gas technical brimstone.
Uzbekneftegaz developed several projects on increasing production of liquefied gas in Uzbekistan. The company plans to attract investments for US$320 million. The projects will allow to increase liquefied gas production from 246,000 tonnes in 2008 to 587,000 tonnes.
Capacities of Uzbekneftegaz allow to produce 70 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 8 million tonnes liquid hydrocarbons a year.
