Delegation from Bukhara region visits Dagestan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation from Bukhara region, headed by khokim Botir Zaripov, made a working visit to the Republic of Dagestan, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the visit, the delegation visited LLC “VEHA” in Magaramkent district, which specializes in the production of alcoholic beverages, primarily wine, and inspected the enterprise’s vineyards.

Negotiations were held with the Chairman of the Committee for the Regulation of Viticulture and Alcoholic Products of the Republic of Dagestan, Sherif Kerimkhanov. During the meeting, cooperation opportunities were discussed, and an agreement was reached for an official delegation of specialists and investors from Dagestan to visit the Bukhara region to exchange experiences and explore the region’s potential.

In the city of Derbent, the delegation met with the head of the city administration, Ahmed Kuliev, discussing the development of cultural-humanitarian and tourism cooperation. Representatives of the Bukhara region also visited historical landmarks “Naryn-Kala” and “Juma Mosque” in Derbent and were acquainted with the production processes at the Derbent Cognac Factory.

In Makhachkala, negotiations were held with the head of the government of the Republic of Dagestan, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov. Prospects for bilateral relations in trade-economic, scientific-technical, and socio-cultural fields were discussed. Agreements were reached on the approval of an action plan for mutual cooperation and the opening of an Uzbekistan trading house in Makhachkala.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Tourism Department of the Bukhara region and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Dagestan, implying an exchange of best practices in the field of tourism.

Additionally, during a meeting of business circles from both sides, issues of attracting investments and industrial and trade cooperation were discussed.
