Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 23 July, Ilkhom Norkulov, the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with a Turkish delegation led by Hasan Ruhi Koçak, the General Director of Tarsus Industrial Zone.

During the meeting, initial steps were discussed for implementing successful models of industrial and special zones from Türkiye into Uzbekistan. The focus was on the current state of industrial and free economic zones in Uzbekistan, improving their regulatory framework, and developing their structure and infrastructure.

The parties exchanged views on developing logistics between industrial and free economic zones, reducing transportation costs, and analyzing tax trends, drawing from Türkiye’s experience in this field.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to develop and expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye in the field of industrial and economic zones.
