Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Yandex Uzbekistan plans to open an office in Tashkent in the fall of 2024 to further develop its business in the country.

The opening of the office will allow the expansion of the team, accelerate the launch of new products, and scale existing services in the country.

The company also plans to launch an IT internship program for developers from Uzbekistan.

The Tashkent office will bring together employees working on Yandex Go’s urban services, as well as educational, entertainment, and other services in Uzbekistan.

Following the office opening, Yandex plans to start recruiting for internships to train young IT specialists. These internships will help create a talent pool for both the company and the entire IT industry in Uzbekistan.

The internship launch is part of Yandex’s IT education program, under which the company will open new programming schools for high school students in Uzbekistan, launch programming courses for computer science teachers, and provide them with access to Python teaching materials. Yandex also supports the Technovation Girls mentorship program for developing young women in IT entrepreneurship and conducts intensive courses in competitive programming.

Uzbekistan is one of Yandex’s priority markets. Business expansion is made possible by the conditions created in the country for the development of IT companies and the launch of digital services.
