IT Park hosted a meeting with 3 Japanese companies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 June, IT Park welcomed a Japanese delegation consisting of representatives from Friendly Tech Co., Digital Knowledge Co., and Toppan Digital INC.

Friendly Tech Co. is a Japanese company founded in 2020. The company expressed particular interest in opening outsourcing offices in Uzbekistan. They plan to open their first office in the country in July 2024, following negotiations with IT Park’s management on 10 May at the headquarters of the technopark, and on April 25 during the visit of CEO Farhod Ibragimov to Tokyo at the UOC conference.

Negotiations were also held with Digital Knowledge Co., which employs over 250 staff and has an annual revenue of approximately US$4 million. The company specializes in developing software for online education. Digital Knowledge has already equipped over 2000 schools and companies in Uzbekistan with their online learning software for employees and students. Additionally, the company established Japan Digital University in Uzbekistan, which currently educates over 560 students.

During the meeting with IT Park, Digital Knowledge expressed interest in creating new job opportunities in Japan and Uzbekistan for graduates of Japan Digital University. In the future, the company also plans to expand its presence in Uzbekistan, implementing new projects and inviting Japanese companies to the local market.

Furthermore, IT Park representatives held discussions with Toppan Digital INC. Toppan Digital INC, founded in 2023, specializes in developing and implementing digital solutions across various business sectors. The company’s revenue for 2023 exceeded US$3 million, with a workforce of 821 employees.

Toppan Digital INC thoroughly examined the benefits of becoming a resident of IT Park. Representatives were briefed on all advantages of conducting business in Uzbekistan as an IT Park resident. The Zero Risk program was presented, highlighting the country’s large pool of young IT specialists.

Representatives from Toppan Digital INC are considering opening an office in Uzbekistan or directly hiring Uzbek specialists to support the company’s operations in Japan. They emphasized the shared cultural values between the two countries, which serve as a solid foundation for building business processes involving talents from Uzbekistan.

This meeting underscores the interest of the Japanese private sector in Uzbekistan’s IT sector, particularly in the country’s skilled workforce. Through enhanced cooperation between the countries, Uzbekistan is seeing the creation of new job opportunities and an increase in the level of education through foreign programs aimed at developing sought-after skills among major technology companies.
