Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 April 2024, commercial banks of Uzbekistan, according to the Central Bank, issued more than 48.37 million plastic cards.

This represents an increase of 32.21% compared to the same period in 2023, when the number of cards issued was over 36.58 million.

The number of installed payment terminals also increased from 428,750 in the first quarter of 2023 to 430.060 in January-March 2024.

The volume of transactions carried out using payment terminals amounted to 71.64 trillion soums as of 1 April 2024, while in the same period last year this figure was at 52.92 trillion soums.

In addition, as of 1 April 2024, 26,980 ATMs and information kiosks were installed compared to 20,610 in the first quarter of 2023.
