Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan judo team won its first medal at the Grand Slam tournament in Astana. The experienced Uzbek judoka Sharofiddin Boltaboev won the gold medal of the tournament.

Uzbek athlete, who competed in the weight category up to 81 kg, won the gold medal, defeating the German Timo Kavelius in the final match.

Thanks to this result, Boltaboev gains 1000 points for the world and Olympic rankings.
