Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 May, a meeting was held in the Tashkent khokimiyat with representatives of China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd, led by Chairman of the Board Wang Bo.

The meeting was attended by Tashkent khokim Shavkat Umurzakov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Ilzat Kasymov, Deputy khokim Sharof Rakhmanov, management of Toshkent Invest Kompaniyasi JSC and other representatives of the parties.

Shavkat Umurzakov said that thanks to the openness policy of the heads of the two states, a solid basis for effective dialogue between the parties has been created. He noted that now in Uzbekistan, in particular in Tashkent, the external and internal economy is striving for complete transparency and independence, and has a clear strategy and direction. He also said that the capital’s economy is focused on increasing the level of localization and import substitution, and the production of export-oriented products and services.

During the meeting, cooperation on the launch, management and development of the Yangi Avlod free economic zone, located in the Yangikhayot district of the capital, was discussed.

Wang Bo expressed confidence that this facility will become a kind of “star” of Central Asia - a hub based on developed Dry Port systems, aimed at a market with a population of at least 150 million consumers and China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. will make a feasible contribution to its development, as he sees Tashkent as a worthy, strong and reliable partner.

Shavkat Umurzakov said that by maintaining friendly relations with all countries, favorable conditions are created for the development of the economy, industry, business, medicine, tourism, including domestic and foreign, as well as gastrotourism.

Also, following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Toshkent Invest Kompaniyasi JSC and China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. to implement the agreements reached. It is expected that the company will become a reliable partner of the capital in achieving the goals of high-tech production and will attract other large enterprises in China.
