Consulate General of Turkey opened in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Consulate General of Turkey opened in Samarkand on 7 March, the press service of the regional administration reported.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Samarkand khokim Erkinjon Turdimov and others.
Employees of the diplomatic mission will carry out tasks for the development of investment, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On measures to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey and expand multifaceted cooperation", the technical assistance of the Turkish government will be expanded in the following areas with the involvement of leading Turkish experts:
- capacity building in the management of health infrastructure facilities;
- strengthening the institutional and regulatory framework in the field of seismology, the introduction of modern international standards;
- assistance in the implementation of international standards in the field of construction and efficient use of roads and roadside infrastructure;
- implementation of the best solutions and technologies in Turkey in the field of "electronic government".
