Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First Deputy Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shahlo Turdikulova held talks with Charge d’Affaires of Japan in Uzbekistan Asushi Suda.
The Ministry of Innovative Development, as an authorized body for the introduction of innovations in public administration and the real sector of the economy of Uzbekistan, is working on the development and expansion of scientific and technical cooperation with Japan.
Shahlo Turdikulova spoke about the work carried out by the ministry to combat coronavirus. In particular, she informed about the process of conducting phase III clinical trials of the coronavirus vaccine developed by the Chinese company Anhui ZhifeiLongcom Biopharmaceutical, the development of PCR test systems for detecting coronavirus, scientific research to combat coronavirus in Uzbekistan. She expressed readiness to cooperate with research organizations and companies in Japan in this area.
She also noted that the Center for Advanced Technologies under the Ministry of Innovative Development has begun the development and production of PCR test systems, and the center’s scientists are working on the creation of a test system to detect the "British strain" of the COVID-19 virus.
Representatives of the Japanese Embassy expressed their readiness to provide practical assistance in finding Japanese organizations and companies wishing to cooperate in this study.
