National Table Tennis Championship starts in Andijan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzbekistan Table Tennis Championship among athletes born in 2001-2002 and younger is being held in Andijan. The competitions, which will last until 20 October, are attended by about 100 tennis players from all regions of the country. It should be noted that this is the first official competition to be held since quarantine.
“The main goal of this competition is to select the best athletes for the Uzbekistan national table tennis team for the Hangzhou Asian Games-2022 and the Paris-2024 Olympics. We will attract young and talented tennis players who have successfully competed in the national team and prepare with them for the upcoming complex competitions. Those athletes who, despite the pandemic, worked on themselves at home, show good results,” said the Chairman of the Table Tennis Federation Saida Makhmudova.
It should be noted that each team has 5 members. The competition, along with the Federation, is supervised by representatives of the NOC.
